Spring Ballet 2026

May 2nd & 3rd 2026

Our North Shore Ballet Theatre performance group produces a Spring Ballet perfect for all ages. Originating in 2010, NSSD has produced a short 1-act ballet to showcase the talented NSBT dancers.  Ballet Theatre dancers are cast as various characters to perform a popular Children's Story. Past performances include The Wizard of Oz, Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, and The Little Mermaid. The Spring Ballet has been featured in the Pre-Dance Showcase and NSSD’s Spring Concert.

A Magical Forest Ballet

Deep in a glowing forest, the Miners begin each day with music, marching steps, and joyful work. The forest is alive with magic—gentle sprites protect every tree and leaf, while twinkling fireflies light the miners’ path. Even the playful squirrels join the fun, copying steps and leaping through the woods.

One day, the miners discover someone very special—Snow White. Kind, graceful, and full of wonder, she is welcomed into the heart of the forest. But far away, a jealous Evil Queen watches from her dark castle. When her Magic Mirror tells her Snow White is the fairest of all, the Queen’s envy grows dangerous.

A dark shadow creeps through the forest, and Snow White becomes lost. The forest creatures and miners guide her safely to their home, where she finds friendship, laughter, and a place to belong. Together they dance, work, and protect one another.

When the Queen learns Snow White is safe, she turns to dark magic and disguises herself. Hidden inside a beautiful apple, her spell finds its way to Snow White. The miners arrive too late, and Snow White falls into an enchanted sleep. Heartbroken, they surround her, vowing to keep her safe. The Queen vanishes into the shadows, but the forest does not lose hope. The guardians of the woods gather, the squirrels race off to find help, and kindness fills the air once more.

At last, hope arrives. Snow White awakens, the forest rejoices, and light returns to every corner of the woods. In a joyful finale, miners, forest creatures, and friends dance together, celebrating a world where kindness, courage, and magic live forever.

✨ And so, in the heart of the forest, they all live happily ever after. 🩰🌲

What an outstanding  performance and production you put on today…congratulations to you both. Jessica you have  a beautiful voice. It was amazing to me , because I know how difficult it is to sing after you danced so beautifully. Soren , words cannot express how creative you are,  not just in your production alone, but with your sense of humor as well.  Every detail was covered. The audience thoroughly enjoyed  every minute. You both were and are a huge success!

We have not stopped talking about how amazing the production last night was. We were absolutely shocked to see the dress come down from the ceiling, and everyone thought it was a blast to have the dancers interacting with the audience. The singing at the end was so special.

Beyond putting on a professional level show, the dancers clearly had great direction and focus- a testament to you and everyone at NSSD. I am so grateful that Viviene is a part of a community like this. Thank you!
